Colorado’s history is deeply entwined with the history of RAILROADS in the West. From East to West and North to South, more than 5,700 miles of track crisscrossed Colorado at the turn of the 20th century. Railroad men such as Colorado Springs’ own founder, General William Jackson Palmer, enjoyed fantastic wealth as a result of the ribbons of metal that carried people, supplies, and the future of the country from coast to coast.

These railroading three- and five-day itineraries bring back the excitement and romance of that bygone era. The Pikes Peak region was a hub of particular activity during the Cripple Creek Gold Rush of the 1890s. Based in either Cripple Creek or Cañon City, you’ll enjoy the relaxing ambience of rail travel and elegant accommodations. All aboard!

Highlights include:

     • Royal Gorge Railway—dinner included, and a visit to the famous bridge

     • Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railway—the famous “Gold Belt”

     • Visit the new Railway Station and Museum in Woodland Park

     • Guided tour of the Pueblo Railway Museum

. . .Itinerary customizable to include other area railroads!
